The Human Centipede 3 Final Sequence (2015) – Video review 2015,IMDB Rating: 0.0, IMDB Votes: 0, ID: 16427350 Photo by julians-blog.net, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) is a fittingly awful conclusion to a trilogy that has been defined by its grotesque and shocking content. The film’s attempt to outdo its predecessors in terms of shock value results in a movie that is more offensive than entertaining. It is a low point in horror cinema and one of the worst films of the 2010s. 2. Transformers: Age of Extinction 2014,IMDB Rating: 5.6, IMDB Votes: 333644, ID: 2109248 Photo by coyotepr.uk, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Transformers: Age of Extinction is about the struggle for survival between humans and Transformers against a new threat. The story sees the Autobots and humans joining forces to defend themselves against a powerful force consisting of government agents and a new type of villain. Excessive fight scenes and frequent commercial insertions detract from the viewing experience. 3. Fantastic Four 2015,IMDB Rating: 4.3, IMDB Votes: 177954, ID: 1502712 Photo by bp.blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Fantastic Four is a superhero film that fails to live up to expectations, telling the story of four scientists who gain superpowers after an experimental accident. However, the reboot’s bland and uninspired script fails to showcase the passion and fun of the original comics. 4. The Legend of Hercules 2014,IMDB Rating: 4.3, IMDB Votes: 56427, ID: 1043726 Photo by bp.blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Legend of Hercules is about the adventures of the Greek mythological hero Hercules. The storyline is full of clichés and the special effects are underwhelming. The film mimics many elements of the classics but fails to recreate their essence, presenting a lacklustre adaptation of the myth. 5. I, Frankenstein 2014,IMDB Rating: 5.1, IMDB Votes: 84167, ID: 1418377 Photo by ggpht.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 I, Frankenstein is about the adventures of Adam, Frankenstein’s monster, in the modern world. Adam is drawn into an ancient war between demons and gargoyles, trying to find meaning in his own existence. The film tries to blend horror and action, but it falls flat. It is a forgettable addition to the Frankenstein lore that fails to impress. 6. The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) 2011,IMDB Rating: 3.8, IMDB Votes: 43615, ID: 1530509 Photo by julians-blog.net, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) takes the grotesque premise of its predecessor to new extremes, telling the story of a parodist who becomes obsessed with recreating the ‘Human Centipede’ experiment. Filled with extreme violence and uncomfortable images, the film lacks a coherent plot and is more about shocking the viewer than it is about nausea and discomfort. 7. Movie 43 2013,IMDB Rating: 4.4, IMDB Votes: 113262, ID: 1333125 Photo by blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Movie 43 is a comedy film made up of a number of vulgar and offensive short stories that fail to deliver any real laughs despite having a star-studded cast. The film attempts to replace witty humour with ‘shock value’ through a number of disjointed sequences, but each story is so poorly written and executed that the experience is extremely uncomfortable. 8. The Last Airbender 2010,IMDB Rating: 4.0, IMDB Votes: 175818, ID: 0938283 Photo by bp.blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Last Airbender is about An Aang’s mission to save the world as the ‘Avatar of the World’ in the midst of a conflict between the four clans of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. The film’s attempt to compress the entire season into a single film left the plot rushed and incomplete, much to the disappointment of fans. 9. Left Behind 2014,IMDB Rating: 3.1, IMDB Votes: 42856, ID: 2467046 Photo by bfoliver.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Left Behind is about the chaos caused by mass disappearances across the globe, but cheap special effects and a tedious script make for a dull viewing experience. Despite the appealing story setup, the film lacks real tension and excitement and fails to effectively present the depth of the original. 10. Jack and Jill 2011,IMDB Rating: 3.3, IMDB Votes: 91077, ID: 0810913 Photo by persinsala.it, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Jack and Jill is a painfully unfunny comedy that showcases Adam Sandler at his worst. He plays Jack and Jill, twin siblings with very different personalities, in the film. The film focuses on a series of absurd events that occur between the two after Jill visits her brother Jack. However, the film’s cheap humour and lack of a coherent plot make the viewing experience tedious and uninteresting. 11. Abduction 2011,IMDB Rating: 5.1, IMDB Votes: 83671, ID: 1600195 Photo by deviantart.net, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Abduction is about a teenager, Nathan, played by Taylor Lautner, who discovers that his birth is a mystery and gets caught up in a manhunt, embarking on an escapade to find the truth. Despite the film’s well-known cast, the confusing plot and suspenseful design fail to work, making the overall viewing experience mediocre. 12. R.I.P.D. 2013,IMDB Rating: 5.6, IMDB Votes: 145033, ID: 0790736 Photo by blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 R.I.P.D. is an attempt to blend action and comedy in a film about two underworld detectives who hunt down undead criminals. With a lacklustre plot and bland special effects, the film fails to live up to expectations. 13. Grown Ups 2 2013,IMDB Rating: 5.4, IMDB Votes: 171869, ID: 2191701 Photo by blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Grown Ups 2 continues the characters from its predecessor, following the daily life of Adam Sandler’s Renny as he moves back to his hometown with his family, but the story is more of a series of loosely cobbled together short stories that lack coherence. 14. Getaway 2013,IMDB Rating: 4.4, IMDB Votes: 25367, ID: 2167202 Photo by wikimedia.org, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Getaway is about Brent, a former race car driver played by Ethan Hawke, who is controlled by a mysterious man and must complete a mission in a car equipped with surveillance equipment to rescue his kidnapped wife. However, the film’s plot is thin and the characterisation is superficial. Although full of high-speed car chase scenes, the one-dimensional action sequences leave the audience easily fatigued and unattractive. 15. Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker 2019,IMDB Rating: 6.4, IMDB Votes: 499990, ID: 2527338 Photo by olivian.ro, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Rise of Skywalker is a disappointing conclusion to the Star Wars saga. It tells the story of the final showdown between the Resistance and the First Order. In the film, Rey faces her ultimate challenge as a Jedi and reveals the secret of her origins in a fateful showdown with Kylo Ren. 16. Holmes & Watson 2018,IMDB Rating: 3.9, IMDB Votes: 39719, ID: 1255919 Photo by blog.hu, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Holmes & Watson is a film that attempts to present a comedic take on the classic detective story of Holmes and Watson’s outlandish detective exploits. However, the film fails to succeed in presenting humour with its flat punchlines and loose plot. The two lead actors are not bad, but the lacklustre script and deliberate slapstick effects leave the audience feeling embarrassed rather than delighted.
