John Wick 2014,IMDB Rating: 7.4, IMDB Votes: 748010, ID: 2911666 Photo by coyotepr.uk, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 John Wick is about a former professional hitman named John Wick who lives a quiet life after the death of his wife, only to return to the world of hitmen to exact revenge when his beloved dog is killed by a gang member. However, the film’s portrayal of a lone assassin taking on an entire criminal organisation single-handedly is too far-fetched. In reality, such a mission would require careful planning and support. 3. James Bond 2012- Skyfall 2021,IMDB Rating: 0.0, IMDB Votes: 0, ID: 19634742 Photo by blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Skyfall is Bond’s return to HQ after a failed mission, only to find a major threat to MI6, and a life-and-death battle in which he must face an old enemy and protect M. The film is a powerful and powerful film, with a strong focus on the role of the spy, and on the role of the spy. The film’s depiction of high-tech espionage and the protagonist’s almost superhuman abilities is highly exaggerated. In real life, intelligence work is often much more mundane. 4. The Fast and the Furious 2001,IMDB Rating: 6.8, IMDB Votes: 423661, ID: 0232500 Photo by blog.hu, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Fast and the Furious is centred around undercover cop Brian, who infiltrates the underground racing scene in Los Angeles to get close to race car driver Dominic in an attempt to uncover the truth about a series of carjackings. While the film’s depiction of street racing and stunts is highly exaggerated and off-kilter, its tight action scenes and excellent performances by the cast make the film an enjoyable viewing experience. 5. Mission: Impossible – Fallout 2018,IMDB Rating: 7.7, IMDB Votes: 381871, ID: 4912910 Photo by clamorworld.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Mission: Impossible – Fallout is about agent Ethan Hunt and his team who, after a failed mission, must recover a missing shipment of nuclear weapons cores in order to prevent a global catastrophe. The film’s presentation of espionage operations and high-stakes missions is highly dramatic, and the reality of such operations often requires much more careful planning and coordination. 6. The Dark Knight 2008,IMDB Rating: 9.0, IMDB Votes: 2902869, ID: 0468569 Photo by bp.blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 While The Dark Knight follows the intense confrontation between Batman and Gotham’s rising criminal genius, the Joker. The film’s depiction of Batman’s ability to take down criminals without causing permanent damage is far-fetched. Nonetheless, Heath Ledger’s classy performance as the Joker and the film’s exploration of moral ambiguity make it an engaging film. 7. Mad Max: Fury Road 2015,IMDB Rating: 8.1, IMDB Votes: 1120561, ID: 1392190 Photo by bp.blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Mad Max: Fury Road is about a thrilling life-and-death chase through a post-apocalyptic desert. The depiction of hackers and virtual reality is nonetheless highly stylised and unrealistic. The idea of downloading martial arts skills directly into the brain is pure fantasy. Despite these flaws, the film’s innovative visuals and thought-provoking narrative continue to captivate audiences. 9. Taken 2008,IMDB Rating: 7.7, IMDB Votes: 639750, ID: 0936501 Photo by blogspot.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Taken is about a retired agent, Bryan Mills, who embarks on a thrilling rescue operation after his daughter is kidnapped and trafficked overseas. The film is tense and tightly plotted, but Mills’ almost invincible abilities and over-the-top action scenes make the film seem a little unrealistic. The film manages to capture the audience’s attention by depicting the cruelty of human traffickers and the deep power of a father’s love. 10. The Bourne Identity 2002,IMDB Rating: 7.8, IMDB Votes: 581106, ID: 0258463 Photo by blog.hu, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 The Bourne Identity is about Jason Bourne, an amnesiac man who is found at sea with no memories but gradually unravels the world of espionage he has been drawn into. Lethal Weapon 1987,IMDB Rating: 7.6, IMDB Votes: 279104, ID: 0093409 Photo by wikimedia.org, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Lethal Weapon is about two LAPD detectives who form a very different pair. The two have to deal with dangerous situations and eventually work together to uncover the conspiracy behind them. The film’s portrayal of police work is far from realistic, with the protagonists emerging unscathed from countless life-threatening situations. Although not realistic, the chemistry between Gibson and Glover makes this a classic ‘partner cop’ film. 12. Speed 1994,IMDB Rating: 7.3, IMDB Votes: 395970, ID: 0111257 Photo by senscritique.com, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Speed is about an LAPD officer and a bus passenger, Annie, who work together to stop a bus that has been planted with a bomb by terrorists from exploding. The concept of a bus that explodes at speeds below 50 mph is far-fetched, and the stunts, while spectacular, defy the laws of physics. Its tight pace and suspenseful plot belies the film’s implausibilities. 13. Commando 1985,IMDB Rating: 6.7, IMDB Votes: 176538, ID: 0088944 Photo by exotica.org.uk, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Commando is about retired special forces soldier John, who single-handedly takes on an armed group to save his kidnapped daughter. Filled with over-the-top action scenes, Matt Ricks is barely injured and defeats a large number of enemies by himself. Despite the unrealistic battle scenes, Schwarzenegger’s superb charisma and the film’s explosive action make it a quintessential 80s action film. 14. Rambo: First Blood Part II 1985,IMDB Rating: 6.5, IMDB Votes: 184309, ID: 0089880 Photo by draco.pe.kr, is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 Rambo: First Blood Part II is about John, an ex-soldier, who is sent to Vietnam by the US government on a mission to rescue prisoners of war.
